Architectural heritage is a storyteller, but only if it is preserved in its integrity. The authentic street façades and structural characteristic of the building are small glimpses to the ancient world, but if the authentic plasters texture, the deep and worn-out colors of authentic wall paints, the authentic roof tiles, hundred-year-old windows are preserved, you are introduced to the daily details of personal life with all its visual aesthetics. And if the timber furniture is preserved you can even smell the past, if not taste it… When we learn more about our ancestors we can better analyze and understand our contemporary society. Heritage preservation is associated with many tangible items, but it is closely connected with our intangible cultural codes as well. All the tangible and intangible aspects of architectural heritage are intertwined together similar to the rings in our logo and should be preserved in their integrity if we want to hear the story.
